Brand Yourself

Should You Brand Yourself On Business Or Products?

Have you been wondering whether you should brand yourself on business or products when it comes to your online marketing?

When I got serious, started branding myself, and decided to start blogging, that was the first question I had to answer before I started creating online content.

In the video below, I talk about a simple way that you can decide which route you want to go when creating your brand.

5 Branding Tips

#1 Have A Long Term Vision

The home based business industry is not easy one but very rewarding.  That being said, the only thing that will keep you going and pull you through the bad times is having a strong vision of who you want to become.  Building your brand, generating leads, and becoming successful will not happen overnight so be sure to embrace this for the long term!

#2 Brand Your Name

Use your personal name when branding yourself, not your company.  If you create a fan page or website, don’t have “Consultant for Banana Rama” or “Banana Rama Consultant” because things can always change but your name won’t!

#3 Be Yourself

I remember when I first started doing videos, I would try to be all perfect and professional and guess what?  It wasn’t who I was.  You want people to feel like they can relate to you and if you are always trying to be perfect, it will come across as unauthentic.  If you make mistakes, so what!  You’re human and you have your own personality that people will resonate with so I encourage you to embrace it and have fun.

#4 Be Consistent

This is probably my biggest tip!!  If you are not constantly staying in the face of your prospects, they will forget about you and it will take you a lot longer to see any real results or progress.  However, if you are putting out content on a daily basis, you will be able to reach your goals a lot faster.

#5 Know Your Target Market

If you try to attract everyone, you’ll end up attracting no one.  It’s super important to really think about who your target market is so that you can begin creating content that will serve and attract them to you.  Are they male or female?  What’s their age range?  What are their interests?  If you’re in skincare, don’t say you want to attract everyone with skin because it won’t work.  Instead, maybe think about the working class women who are at the age to where they are beginning to see fine lines, wrinkles, sun damage, etc. and want solutions (this is just one example of who you could target).

  1. Good tips about branding, Sherri. I think both are equally important because we can’t brand our product without branding ourselves and it goes vice versa. Thank you for your awesome tips.

  2. Great post Sherri. This is a post every new marketer should read, especially tip #1. There is no overnight success, but with hard work and consistency it will pay off. Thanks for sharing!
