My Own Experience

One of the things I wanted for my birthday back in April was aΒ bike and a bike trailer so I could pull my three year old around. Β Where we live, we live on a cul-de-sac. Our house is at one end as soon as you turn on the street and you go up a little bitty hill to the cul-de-sac.

I was like, “Let’s just take it for a little spin.” Hopped on the bike, my daughter was in the bike trailer and we went up to the cul-de-sac and back. Like I said, it’s a little bitty hill. When I got back, I was like, “Oh my gosh.” I don’t sweat and I was sweating. Β It was tough getting up that hill.

I remember when I was coming down the hill thinking, “Man, I wish … I’d like to just ride the bike downhill because it’s a lot easier.” It kind of got me thinking that when it comes to being an entrepreneur, we face challenges in our business and it’s great when you get sign ups. You’re pumped. You’re excited.

In the end, maybe that sign up who was so excited and pumped about the business ended up not doing anything with it or maybe you got a few customers and they ended up cancelling their membership and it just kind of leaves you in that feeling of, “Man, you’re going in an uphill battle.” You think you’re cruising down the hill and all of a sudden, something happens and you’re going right back up the hill, right?

Well, watch the video below for why these uphill battles are not so bad.Β
