Have you wondered the purpose behind blogging?

Although there are many who may do it just as a hobby and a way to share things they enjoy, blogging for business is totally different.

5 Reasons Why You Need A Blog

Blogging For Business:

Blogging is hands down one of the best ways to generate leads for your business and the main reason to create online content.  Your website is also the only thing that you actually own and control aside from your email list.

After going through Ray Higdon’s 3 Minute Expert Course, I learned so much about how to create a powerful blog.  If you’re wanting to grow a successful business online, that won’t happen unless you can gain the trust of your prospects.  When you create a blog, it’s a place where you can drive your traffic to and begin building that relationship.  Your audience is then able to get to know who you are and what you’re about.

The Most Important Part Of Your Blog:

If you have your website up and going, there is one thing that is absolutely necessary and that is having a way to get people onto your email list!  This is usually done by having some type of free giveaway that serves your target market.  If you look to the right hand side, you will notice that I have an opt-in form where you can enter your name and email.  In return, you will get a free download of my Success Guide, 5 keys that every home based business owner should know if they want to become a top earner in their company.

There are many blogs out there with either bad opt-in forms or crappy giveaways.  Therefore you must think of an offer that would make your target market and prospects toss and turn at night if they didn’t get it.  If I’m being honest, my current offer isn’t the most fabulous and therefore I’m in the process of changing it this week to one that’s really going to pack a punch (so be watching!).

So start thinking about what audience you’re serving and what their pains and struggles are.  Then, you can begin crafting an offer that is very enticing!  You could create a video, pdf, e-book, etc. as there are many types of giveaways out there.

Examples of Bad Opt-In Forms:

  • Join My Newsletter
  • Subscribe to my newsfeed
  • Enter your information to get a powerful gift from me
  • Free gift when you subscribe

None of these would really make anyone jump to give you their name and email and they aren’t too appealing to anyone.

Examples Of Good Opt-In Forms:

  • 4 Easy Breezy Lines to help you talk to more people and close more sales.
  • 14 perfect social media secrets for attracting more leads.
  • 12  makeup brushes you need (and exactly how to use them).
  • The best skincare products for 2016

Do you see how each of these appeal to a specific audience?  They peak your curiosity and make you want to enter your information!  Start browsing around and looking at some of the offers out there on the internet and begin asking yourself if it’s something that would peak your interest.

The Tools I Use to Build My Business:

  • My Toolbox – I have been asked quite a bit about what tools and resources I use so I’ve put together this page just for you!  Enjoy 🙂
