Have you ever put up a video, blog post, or status update and then got a little upset when nothing came from it?
Today, I’ll be talking about the importance of a call to action in marketing and also what it is just in case you’re new.

What Is A Call To Action & Why Is It Important
By definition, in marketing, a call to action (CTA) is an instruction to the audience to provoke an immediate response. So basically you’re giving someone the next step you want them to take.
How often have you put up some type of post and all you heard was crickets? Maybe you posted a picture of you using a product or maybe you shared some great tips but no one ever contacted you afterwards. Bummer huh? Well, that might be because you didn’t include a call to action at the end of it.
The big message that I want you to take away from this post and video is to never assume someone knows what you want them to do! You have to tell them and lead them to the next step in the process.
I remember going through some video marketing training from Ray Higdon and the one thing he emphasized was to never leave out your CTA at the end of your video. Guess what happened the first time I did a live video? I left out my CTA! Oh no!! However, I haven’t left it out since then.
The entire purpose of marketing is to generate leads into your business and a simple way to do this once you’ve added value and informed your prospect about whatever your topic was, is to guide them through the next step.
It’s also important to note that your CTA needs to be congruent with what you’re talking about. So a good example of not being congruent would be to share this information with you and at the end of my post have you contact me to learn more about my mlm products. Why? Because it has absolutely nothing to do with the topic at hand. I talk about this more in the short video below and give you more CTA examples.

Thank you April! 🙂
Agreed. A call to action is REALLY hard for people who haven’t developed the self-worth to ask for an exchange of value. (There’s an open secret!) 🙂

A CTA is super important as you need to tell your prospects what to do next, rather than assume they will do it. Thanks for sharing!

Tons of value as usual. Thank for illustrating how important the CTA is!

You’re spot on Sherri when your CTA needs to be congruent with your content.
When I first started I built my confidence up by having people like my video or Fan Page, then eventually worked to my newsletter and now inviting them to receive private coaching from me.
