Have you been using Facebook Live or Periscope and wondered if there was a format to follow when doing online video marketing?
I’ve done a few trainings around the topic and wanted to share a quick checklist so you’ll know exactly how to structure your live videos from now on.
Heads Up:
We’re going to be holding our first local training event in Southwest Tennessee on May 21st.  The event is called Home Business Boot Camp where we will be teaching network marketers and home business owners about branding, marketing, prospecting, and recruiting.  If you want to grow your business using the internet, you can click here to check out the details.  Â
10 Step Checklist For Online Video Marketing
The one thing I love about shooting live videos on facebook or periscope is the ability to engage with your viewers. Â It keeps things fresh, upbeat and I don’t have to pretend that I’m talking to a crowd like when recording a regular video. Â
If you’re doing Facebook Live or Periscope, here is a guideline you can follow to keep you on track.Â
#1 Pick A Topic
Sounds simple enough, right? Â Decide on a topic that your target audience will find educational and valuable. Â What questions or problems do they have that you can talk about?
#2 Engaging Title
Come up with an engaging title and something that is going to grab someones attention. Â You can also use emoji’s in your title as well.
#3 Use Hashtags that are useful and clever
You can also use hashtags when going live but you want to make sure they are relevant as well. Â If you’re talking about marketing or branding, it would make sense to use #marketing #entrepreneur #branding, make sense? Â I would also recommend using 2-4 hashtags.
#4 Run the broadcast
You can see there are a few steps to do before you ever hit the broadcast button. Â Now, it’s time to actually go live!
#5 Introduction
You want to keep the introduction short and be sure to smile!!  Usually when I’m going live, I’ll say something like, “Hey hey hey, Sherri Brown here coming at ya from SherriBrownCoaching.com  See, short and sweet.
#6 Welcome guests and engage
This is the fun part and also something I would always recommend doing and that’s to engage and welcome people as they come on. Â You also want to get engagement as quickly as possible and you can do this simply by asking questions. Â You can say something like, “Type into the comments where you’re coming in from.” or “Type ‘new’ into the comments if this is your first time getting on with me so I can give you a shoutout.” Â
People love to be recognized and feel appreciated and this is a super simple way to do that.
#7 State your topic and ask to share
Here you’ll be telling them your topic and asking them to share it out. Â It could be something simple like, “Today, I’m giving you a 10 step checklist when doing facebook live. Â If you don’t mind, go ahead and share this out so we can get some peeps on.” Â If you’re going live on Periscope, you can also ask for hearts if they are getting value. Â
If you’re not familiar with Periscope, you can give hearts by tapping on the screen. Â You can also tell them how to give hearts since some will be hopping on for the first time.
#8 Ask them to subscribe
If you’re using Facebook Live, it’s always good to ask them to subscribe so they’ll get notified and won’t miss out on future broadcasts. Â
#9 Deliver the content
This is where you are delivering the actual content that you told them you would. Â So in this case, I would be sharing these 10 steps with them.
#10 Call To Action & Share the replay
Keep in mind that your goal is always always to generate a lead. Â You never want to assume they will know what to do next so this is where you’re going to give them a call to action that is congruent with your topic. Â
An example over this topic could be, “If you’re wanting to get more into how to do Facebook Live, go to www.SherriBrownCoaching.com/fblive and enter your name and email to receive a free training.”
If you’re in health and wellness and you’re talking about the benefits of this shake you’re drinking, you could say something like, “If you want to know what my favorite shake is, message me” (or whatever your preferred contact method is).
Also, don’t forget to ask your viewers to share the replay out!
