Today I’m going in for some real talk and mlm tips for beginners that can really help you if you’re trying to grow your business online.
More times than not, when you enter the home based business industry, you’re put through your company training and then told to go out there and start growing your business. For me, growing it online was key because I just didn’t have the time to go out belly to belly building since I have a toddler at home who isn’t in school.
The next thing you probably did (if building online) was start posting a bunch of pictures of your products, talking about how awesome your company is, putting your website link out there and then crossing your fingers just hoping someone clicks on it. Am I right?
I would also bet that you’re doing this simply because that’s what you see everyone else doing. Here’s the problem with that…

Training Video: What Happens When You Brand Your Company
So as you found in the video, most companies and uplines aren’t teaching you effective marketing strategies that will truly help you create a thriving business online. I can’t say that I blame them because chances are, that’s what they were taught. However, now you know that throwing your company name around actually raises more resistance that anything else. It also does nothing to set you apart from everyone else out there trying to do the exact same thing.
You must realize that people do not come on social media with their credit card in hand just looking for someone to buy from or a business to join. People join people!
How To Grow A Thriving Business Online
It all starts with attraction marketing! Let’s say that you’re in the health & wellness industry. Instead of just posting pictures of your products, giving out the name of your company and talking about how amazing it is and how people should buy, lead with value. Begin educating people and giving them tips on how to lose weight, exercises to do at home, healthy recipes on a budget, and start talking about the benefits and how your product will help them.
Brand yourself as a health & wellness expert who has products to offer versus branding yourself as just another consultant for your company. The fact is, the vast majority are simply trying to make a sale on social media and yea, you might get a few sales every now and then but it won’t be enough to create any type of lasting income or business. Unless you can begin to be seen as someone of value, someone that people come to know, like, and trust, you’re going to have a really hard time being seen as anything other than another spammer out there pitching your product. Make sense?
When you begin educating people, what will happen is you will begin attracting people who are interested in health & wellness (or whatever it is you’re talking about). This will make you stand out!!
The more you do this, the more you lead with value, the more people will see you as an authority and someone of value. Instead of you appearing that you just want to make a sale, you are seen as someone who wants to help other people and you will begin to get people reaching out to you.
This is exactly what I have been doing and I promise you, it will work if done consistently over time.

What a great post today Sherri…. you are so right on with this… most companies want you to push them and that makes sense for them… but we need to be branding ourselves… thanks for sharing this.. you rock
Thanks Ron and you’re right, it’s good for the company, not for the consultant.
Attraction Marketing is where people fail the most. But you really need to be able to attract people to you.
Definitely Mark!
Excellent post Sherri! So many people are just following their upline, which followed their upline and no one corrects. Your business will definitely thrive when you turn to attraction marketing versus chasing people around!
Thanks Zach and you’re exactly right!
Awesome post Sherri!
