4 Mistakes That Could Be Hurting Your Business On Social Media
What Is Marketing?
You’ve probably heard me mention multiple times that there are two ways to grow your business, through prospecting and marketing. Prospecting is where you are reaching out to individuals to see if they are open to your product, service or opportunity. Marketing is where you are putting information or content out into the marketplace and hoping that an unnamed individual will respond to it. That could be in the form of a blog post, video, social media status update, etc.
What Most Network Marketers Think
What most network marketers think is that the more people who know what company they are in, the higher the chance of being able to get them to join. That’s simply not true.
The only way to recruit more people is to get more eyeballs on your company presentation. So if you’re someone out there pounding your company name in everyones face on a daily basis and you aren’t getting any results, you might consider changing that up a bit.
Marketing Tips
You must realize that good marketing raises more curiosity than resistance. This was something I was not taught by any network marketing company but learned from seeking out more effective ways to grow my business. Having a marketing plan in place is really going to make a difference on your bottom line. Here are a few tips for you.
First, focus on branding yourself and not your company. The first thing most people do when they find out what company you’re with is they google it. It’s human nature to then seek out the negative information and you’ll never know. However, when you focus on being the expert in your industry (skincare, makeup, travel, health & wellness, etc.) and you begin leading with information that will help your target market, you will not raise near as much resistance. Instead, you will begin attracting people to you who have an interest in what you’re talking about.
Next, concentrate on ONE marketing strategy at a time. This was what lead to much of my frustration early on for me. I felt I needed to have a profile for every social media site out there and I was trying to master and learn them all. This left me feeling completely overwhelmed and frustrated and I don’t want that for you. Pick one social media site and really learn the in’s and out’s of it. They all operate differently so be aware of what is accepted on whatever platform you choose.
Once you have your platform picked out, move on to the next marketing strategy. Blogging, in my opinion, is a necessity if you are wanting to grow your business online. It is your marketing hub and the only thing that you own and control (aside from your email list). If you’re new to blogging and you want to get started, I suggest going through the same course I did which is Ray Higdon’s 3 Minute Expert Course. Video Marketing is also an extremely powerful strategy as it’s the fastest way to build rapport with a large group of people. Video is also 800% more effective than written text.
Lastly, if you are really wanting to dive deeper into various marketing strategies and learn from top industry leaders, I would recommend tapping into the same online community that I did. This is where I learned how to really start branding myself and I was able to get the in depth training I needed to take my brand and business to the next level.

Super great tips, it is about getting more eyeballs on your product. So when you post about your company, please will say “Oh that’s nice” and pass on by. If you have a image of you using the product (no names showing) then they might say “Hey what’s that all about …” Thanks
Thank you Mike and you’re right. Create curiosity!
