3 Steps To Generating Leads Online

These three tips I first heard from my mentor, Ray Higdon who has generated over a hundred thousand leads online (pretty impressive huh?).  See, for most people who enter the home business space, they go out there (without much of anything) and just start blasting their products all over social media hoping someone bites.  Don’t worry, I did it too at first but if you follow these simple steps, you’ll be way ahead of the game!  (The video above does go into more depth on each one of these)

Step #1 Determine who you want to attract

Don’t just go out there thinking everyone is your target.  That’s a huge mistake not only I made in the beginning but one I see so many others make.  Decide and think about who you want to work with.  Is it stay at home moms?  People who want to lose weight? People who want to travel on a budget?  Realtors?

You have to remember that although many can benefit from your product or opportunity, it doesn’t mean they are the slightest bit interested in it.  Also, when you try to attract everyone, you end up attracting no one.

Step #2  What are their pains and problems

Once you have determined who you want to attract, you then must start asking yourself what their problems are.  What keeps them up at night?

Let’s think about it, if I’m wanting to attract home business owners I know that many struggle with where to find people to talk to, how to market on social media, how to brand themselves, how to prospect and follow up, etc. Make sense?  So what are the pains of who YOU want to work with?

Step #3  Create daily pieces of content that’s going to solve those problems

Daily pieces of content could be a video, blog post, status update, podcast, periscope, pdf, etc that is going to start educating and solving the problems of those in your target market.  By doing this, you will begin attracting people who are interested in what you have to offer!

  1. Not to sound to mean, but, Some day I hope someone can come up with their own tonality when using Rays words. There has to be a way to write this content without it sounding verbatim to like Ray and everyone else who copies what he says.

Keep on working on building a blog that has your spin on it.

  2. Perfect steps laid out to generating leads online! Any newbie or someone who is struggling can use this break down to find success. Thank you for sharing!

  3. Excellent steps Sherri. Big one was identifying your target market; I agree, even though we all seem to do it starting out, marketing to everyone is marketing to no one.

    1. Thanks Kay and I made that mistake in the beginning, just trying to target everyone and it just didn’t work. 🙂

  4. Love it Sherri. Great point. Not everyone with skin (all of us) wants to look after it. Providing content that solves the problems of your target market is the best way to attract your target market..
