Simple Tip To Increase Organic Reach On Your FB Fan Page
It’s no secret that organic reach is down when it comes to Facebook Fan Pages and that means that posts aren’t being seen as much in the newsfeed. However, there is one simple tip I want to share that can increase the odds.
Here’s the deal…. When you put up posts on your fan page, they are not going to get the organic reach that a regular post does when it is put up on your profile (at least not in the beginning). I want you to start thinking of your newsfeed in much the same way you would as a show on t.v. Here’s what I mean.
You will notice that as you’re scrolling down your newsfeed, this is what you’re gonna get (at least as of right now). Organically (no paid ads), you’ll see the majority of the posts are from your family and friends (or people you’re connected to). Then, about eight minutes of that will be posts from fan pages. So when watching a t.v. show, you’ll get about 22 minutes of actual show (content) and then about 8 minutes of commercials, pretty similar to what you’re probably seeing in your newsfeed.
When it comes to Facebook, how they make their money is through Facebook ads. If you simply go to fan page and just “like” it, the likelihood of you seeing a post from that fan page is slim to none (unless somebody is paying to boost those in the news feed).
Now, here’s what you have to do. In my case, (in order for my post to show up in people’s news feed), I tell my fans to go to my fan page and hover over the “like” button. Now, Facebook has automatically checked it to default. This means very few people are actually going to see my posts unless they just are coming to my fan page or I’m paying them to ensure they’re getting seen. Here’s the hack!
Start telling your fans that if they want to see your posts in the news feed, they need to follow these simple steps:
1. Go to your fan page.
2. Hover over to “like” button (or it may say “following”)
3. Make sure there is a check beside notifications, meaning they are turned on.
4. Make sure their is a check beside “see first”.
ANNNND…. VIOLA.. that is the way to start getting your posts showing up in more people’s news feed, organically.
To make it easier for your fans to understand it, you can:
1. Simply post a picture showing people what they need to do.
2. Or you can also do just a quick little video (just a welcome video) talking about what your page is all about and then reminding them of the above steps.
Aside from this, you can also choose to pin your post to the top of your page. So how are you going to pin something is….
1. Once you have the post up, you will see a little down arrow in the top, right hand corner of your post.
2. Click on that down arrow and choose “pin to top.”
That way when somebody comes to your page, that post is the first one people are going to see.
Remember, if you can start training your fans from the beginning to make sure that those notifications are turned on, you are going to get your posts in more people’s newsfeed, without having to pay for Facebook ads.
