Does the thought of speaking in front of a crowd make you nervous? You definitely aren’t alone if it does. I’ll be completely honest here and say that I was a cheerleader all thru school and even in college. I’ve gotten in front of large crowds, cheered and danced without ever being nervous but when I would get in front of crowd to speak, I suddenly felt menopausal (I haven’t gone through ‘the change’ but I feel speaking has prepared me for when that takes place). When I worked in the financial industry, I went through a leadership program and one of the requirements was to get up in front of some executives to give a speech. I honestly remember getting hot flashes and felt my voice cracking thru the entire thing. Can you relate?
Last month I was able to attend an event put on by Ray Higdon called, Speak Your Team Rich. To say he over delivered would be an understatement. I knew when he announced the event, I was going to do whatever I had to, to get there and I did. The first day he had a guest speaker, Curtis Broome, and he was amazing to say the least so I wanted to share some mlm tips that will help you.

Why A Vision Is Critical For Long Term Success
Tips On Speaking From Ray Higdon and Curtis Broome
- Realize that when it comes to speaking, nerves and fear are normal. The key is to use that fear as an energy source and not a paralyzing force.
- The Magic 2: If you want to get better at speaking the first thing you must do is, Know Your Stuff! Know the material so well that you don’t have to think about it and you can then focus on who you’re talking to. See, it’s not about precision, it’s the passion! The second suggestion is to do that speech a thousand times because the more you do anything, the better you will become.
- Speaking is serving so don’t make it about you, it’s about them!
- You can become an expert by being in the presence of other experts.
Great presenters are great storytellers. -Nancy Duarte
Building the Powerful Presentation
- Frame the story with a story. Unite ideas with emotion. A good way to do this is to start off with the word, “Imagine…” For example, if you’re doing a presentation about how to be more effective in your marketing, you could start off by saying, “Imagine how it would feel to have people reaching out to you on a daily basis wanting to join you in business or become a client.” Do you see the power behind uniting ideas with emotion?
- Until you’re comfortable, you’re worried about what you’re saying so break it down and have structure. For example, create a powerpoint that has bullet points and transitions to help you stay on track with your topic and jog your memory.
- Plan out your media. It’s always better when you’re doing a powerpoint in person to have more pictures than words. The only exception to this is if you’re doing actual training.
- Develop Stage Presence. Be sure when you’re speaking to take center stage. Remember PPC!! Posture|Position|Connect
- Practice your butt off and deliver with passion!
More Tips From Day 1
On the first day, we had homework to complete during our lunch break and that was to create a video sharing some tips we had learned. Ray Higdon is very big on adding value into the market place. After all, it’s how he went from foreclosure to a multiple 7-figure per year earner. He told us that success is a combination of growth and contribution. If you want to succeed, you must always remain a student and then you must contribute to the lives of others by sharing what you’ve learned. So here are my notes and takeaways from that first morning. I decided instead of doing a regular video, I’d just go Live on Facebook.

- My Toolbox – I have been asked quite a bit about what tools and resources I use so I’ve put together this page just for you! Enjoy 🙂
