What You Need To Know About Playing Big
In the beginning, or even four years into my journey (if I’m being honest), I still managed to let critics get to me and there were many times that they just flat, took me out of action. However, after really doing some soul searching and diving into personal development, I started doing a lot of mindset training and this is what I learned…
The bigger you play and the more you decide to be different, the more critics you’ll have. You have to understand that there will always be people who try and bring you down, ALWAYS!! If you haven’t had any, you will! The one thing you’ve got to keep in mind is why you’re doing what you’re doing.
I heard Ray Higdon say once that you’ve got to stop seeking the acceptance and approval of others. If you’re someone who is easily swayed by the opinions of others, you’ll have a long road ahead of you. If you’re not, then you’ve got a good shot at helping a lot of people and making a lot of money.
Stop asking everyone’s opinion of what you should do and focus on the vision of who you want to be become. In the end, it comes to it being YOUR life and you’re the one who will have to live with those choices. So are you going to let someone be the reason you give up on your dreams? Because honestly, those critics were more than likely too scared to pursue theirs.

Thanks for your insights on this. Very helpful. Also, looking forward to a more detailed list of these tips. But this is actually a great piece.
You’re so welcome Scott!
Good stuff. All of us seek approval from something/someone we see as authority. It’s human nature. It’s when we learn to BECOME authority that good stuff happens.
Love that Larry!!
I can relate to this post. People sometimes criticise others to let off steam and make themselves feel better, but also because they hate to see people winning. I was grateful for my first hater, it made me feel like I was achieving something significant if that person saw me as some sort of threat… I guess it’s just how your mindset is, as to how you handle it. Thanks for sharing Sherri.
You’re so welcome Keith!
Hi Sherri,
Great advice and information anyone entering this field should know.
“….stop seeking the acceptance and approval of others.” BOOM!
Thanks for sharing.
~ Juanita
Thank you Juanita!
Love it! So many people want the opinion of others to feel as though they fit in. Well, in networking we already have made a choice to take a highly targeted path and one that has many opinions good and bad. Just like you said it comes down to us and it is OUR business. Thanks for another excellent share!
That’s exactly right Zach and thank you!
Bottom line if you don’t have critics, you’re not doing something right!
That’s so true Joseph!
Best blog post yet Sherri!
The money quote for me – “Stop asking everyone’s opinion of what you should do and focus on the vision of who you want to be become. ”
I used to pull my hair out in despair of what people would think of me….but when I let that go and focused on my vision, I started attracting more business.

Love that quote Dr. Lisa and thank you so much!!
Appreciate this post. This is something that most, if not all, network marketers experience. You have to believe in what you’re doing and it’s importance to you, your family and future! 🙂
That’s so true Theresa!
Well timed post Sherri! The moment we start separate from the average cos we are playing bigger and the more decisive we become to be different, the more critics we are going to have. Thanks for sharing this valuable post.
You’re so welcome Gordon and thanks for commenting.
Stop seeking for the acceptance from other people – this point is HUGE! Other people’s opinions don’t pay our bills. After all it’s OUR goals and WE have to take action to achieve them regardless of what others say. Awesome video Sherri!
Absolutely Jelena!!
