Have you been scratching your head wondering how to get more traffic? Wanting to know how to get more traffic to your website, fan page, or maybe your blog? I was watching a periscope this morning from Ray Higdon (a beast in the Network Marketing/Coaching arena) and I wanted to share that information with you!
3 Types of Traffic
There are three types of traffic that we’ll go over and some of the perks to each one.
Traffic You Control. Traffic you control would be Paid Advertising, whether that be Facebook,Twitter, Google ads, etc. Although a lot of people may not be a fan of paid advertising and would prefer the free route, keep in mind that free is not scalable. He also mentioned that the point of advertising is not to spend less but to create the ability to spend more.
Since I’ve created my Facebook Fanpage, I have been doing some split-testing and have had a “Likes Ad” steadily running to build my audience and target those who would be most likely to “Like” my content. It’s also important to note that there are several types of Ads you can run when using Facebook so it’d be wise to learn what each one is for. Traffic You Don’t Control. This is also known as Organic or Free traffic. Although you can gain traffic this way, just know that it takes much longer. Facebook is my primary social media platform and it’s where I’m most active. When I create posts on my fan page, I don’t get a ton of organic traffic right up front and therefore I’ll usually boost particular posts so more people see them. Nowadays on Facebook, it’s really a ‘Pay to Play’ environment, especially if you’re just starting out and don’t have a big following.
Traffic You Own. Ahhhhh, you might be asking yourself, “Well what traffic do I own?” The answer… YOUR LIST! If you want more traffic, the very best way to get it is to build your E-mail list! Once you begin building your list, you can start building relationships with them. If you do not have an E-mail marketing system in place, I suggest you start now. I personally use and love Aweber as it’s very simple to set up, it’s low cost and has everything I need. Click Here for a FREE 30 Day Trial.

Great post and you sure are right about FB being “pay to play” these days! But at least it doesn’t cost much to generate a lot of interest that wouldn’t see your post otherwise.
