Growing a business online isn’t as complicated as it used to be back in the day! Most often, I think we over complicate things and make them more confusing than they have to be (I know I sure did for years).
That’s why today, I want to share a simple, 3 step formula to grow your business online.
This is something that I learned from the creators of MLSP (a marketing system I’ve been a part of since 2015) and I broke this down in a lot deeper context in a previous masterclass which you can check out HERE. Now, let’s dive in!
3 Step Formula to Grow Your Business Online
Here’s the three steps I’ll be covering, and breaking down: Build, Engage, and Sell.
When it comes to growing/building your audience, this can be done several ways.
#1 – Build Your Audience
You have to ask yourself, how and where are you going to build your audience? It’s hard to sell anything unless you have lots of eyeballs, right? So that’s why this is a super important step that you need to get clear on.
- Your personal profile
- Your business or fan page
- Facebook groups
- Podcast
- YouTube
- Other social sites
The big mistake I would avoid is trying to build in too many places at once.
It’s hard enough to build your audience on one platform so don’t go out there in the beginning trying to focus on numerous social media platforms while trying to podcast and be a YT star because they are all very different and you’ll end up spinning your wheels.
Don’t overthink it, just pick one and start learning it.

#2 – Engage With Your Audience.
Once you begin to grow your following, you’ll need to engage them.
This is all about building a rapport. It’s crucial for you, as an entrepreneur to have that “know, like, and trust” factor.
It also develops relationships, and establishes you as the authority.
This begins with your content, and content can take on many forms.
You can do:
- Regular statuses on Facebook
- Lives (which is the most powerful way to engage with your audience by far).
- Pre-recorded videos
- Blogging
- Webinars
- Podcasts

So now, pick a couple of these above and begin carving out your plan. Map it out. If you plan on doing Live video on Facebook, how often are you going to go Live and then what days? Get specific!
#3 – Sell to Your Audience
Once you’ve began building and engaging with your audience, it’s now time to sell to them.
This can be done through…
- Link sharing (whether you share through Facebook Messenger or in the description of posts)
- Webinars
- Sales pages
- Lead Magnets
- Phone Calls
- FB Lives (as a call to action at the end)
Two More Important Tips:
#1 – You don’t need to do all of these things at once
Have you ever heard of “burn out”? hahah, ok, I know ya have and I’ve faced it more times than I can count.
However, being totally real, you don’t have to go through the list and do all of these things to grow, engage, and sell to your audience.
Learn from my mistakes because this caused me to become incredibly overwhelmed in the past.
#2 – Understand that marketing is a long-term strategy
Understand that marketing success doesn’t happen overnight.
This is something that takes time and commitment because it’s about growth and long-term vision.
I see too many people who come into this industry, and because they’re looking for immediate results and don’t get them, they quit.
It took me four years of trial and error, combined with research and study to even begin making a profit (ok, that was totally my fault because I wasn’t really a student of the profession then like I am now).
But, I also realized that learning the aspects of attraction marketing would take some time and I never want to mislead you or give you the wrong expectations.
Time is going to pass away anyway, so why not focus on doing this effectively? Spend your time establishing yourself as the authority figure to create a successful business and a successful brand and I promise, it will pay off.
When I actually did start taking marketing seriously, I was able to create a six-figure income within 2 years so have that stick and stay attitude.
