I remember when I first joined the network marketing industry, I was taught to go out there, make a list of everyone I knew and then start calling or messaging them with something along the lines of …..
“Hey girl, I don’t know if you’ve seen my posts but I joined X company and I’m so super excited!! Β It’s a ground floor opportunity and you can make a ton of money. Β It’s super easy and I totally think you would be great at it. Β Here is the a short video (insert link)! Β Would you be interested? Β Great talking to you!”
And guess what I got after sending that message to a ton of people? Β Well….. I got ignored and totally heard crickets!! Β Can you relate?
The problem with how most people are taught is that it raises a ton of resistance and you’re making it ALLLLLL about yourself and nothing about the wants, needs, and desires of your prospect. Β Think about it…. Have you ever gotten a message like this? Β How did it make you feel? Β I know for me, I got the feeling that they didn’t care anything about me but only about getting a signup. Β
I look back on some of the messages I’ve sent and laugh because I honestly can’t believe I even thought that approach would work. Β If you want to increase your chances of having someone accept and respond to your messages, you’ve got to scratch any message remotely close to the example I gave you above! Β In the short video below, I share three tips specifically for prospecting on social media.
