Do you find yourself doing Facebook Lives but your engagement and your views are not looking so hot?
If that’s you, you definitely want to stick around because today I’ll be talking about 10 Tips to Get More Views and Eyeballs on Your Facebook Lives.
1. Make Sure Your Content Is Congruent
If you want to get more people tuning in to what you have to offer, make sure that your content is congruent and it’s not all over the place.
Instead, hone it in, get it together and really decide on what you want your brand to be and what you want to be known for.
One thing that I started doing – and this is something I see tons of network marketers doing …I was guilty of this early on too. And that is delivering mixed content.
I was giving tips about creating skincare, tips about business, and every day I was toggling back and forth because I had no clear clue what my brand was.
If you are all over the place – in the top extent of what you’re talking about – you’re not going to be able to captivate and get people tuning in. Why? Because you’re like just on a roller coaster ride with a bunch of confusion.
2. Stop Branding Your Network Marketing Company
You’ve got to remove any reference to the networking company that you’re actually with. I want you to know from an outward perspective that it raises a lot of resistance.
There’s a stigma surrounding those in network marketing. Why?
Because most network marketers – “They suck at marketing.”
So if you have your link stink slapped all over your profile, you got your network marketing company name blasted all over, and you want to change the world, well, most of the people are going to tune out to what you’re saying.
Chances are, what they’re thinking in their head is, “this person is going to pitch me something and I don’t even like to be a part of that.”
3. You’ve Got To Watch Your Headlines
This is huge when it comes to getting people to stop on your content when they’re scrolling through the newsfeed.
Because if somebody is scrolling through and you have a boring ole headline, nobody is going to stop, listen or tune in to what you have to say.
Here’s a tip when it comes to headlines: Start testing out different headlines and also find a few rockstars in your specific niche.
Let’s say you’re in health and wellness, then you need to be following people like Danette May, Chalene Johnson and Jillian Michaels.
Start going over to their fan pages and look at the headlines that are getting them the most engagement on their content.
Let that inspire you and give you some ideas to possibly use in your own marketing. Don’t steal headlines because that’s not cool, but you can mirror it and get some ideas from it.
4. Play Around With Different Content
Once you have your brand nailed down and you know what you’re going to talk about, start playing around with some different types of content and raise your awareness on what hits and what doesn’t.
I have some Facebook Live Videos that get thousands of views.
So, be mindful of the videos that are getting good engagements versus the ones that aren’t and do more of the ones that are hitting.
Maybe again, if you do a video and you’re not getting a whole lot of views, if might have to do with the headline itself or the actual content.
So… you could literally change the title, talk about the same content, and then get way more views. So, you just have to kinda play around and tweak it.
5. Be Consistent
I know that you’ve heard this time and time again and sometimes when I say this it’s like I’m beating a dead horse – but that is consistency.
So, create a content schedule, figure out what days are you going to go live or post your content.
Are you going to do one Facebook Live Video a week or a couple of videos a week?
Because being hit or miss can cost you a lot of views, engagement, business, and ultimately profits.
- Get consistent with it. The more consistent you can get, the better off you’ll be.
- If you want to do one Facebook live a week, pick a day and stick to that day.
- Start training your audience, let them know what days of the week you’ll be live.
- Bonus points if you can go live at the same time, that’s even better (I know being a mom to a younger child can be hard so do what you can).
I know one person who literally does a video like Monday through Friday and she does it at the same exact time every single night.
And her views are stupid, ridiculous. Because she has trained her audience.
Everyone knows when she’s going to be doing videos.
So the more consistent you can get with it, the more people are going to know when you’re going live, the more chances that they’re going to tune in when you are actually live.
6. Start Asking Questions
A lot of times, my Facebook Live Videos are like, “Hey, drop a ‘1’ …”, or “Hey, as you’re tuning in let me know if you’re watching me live or the replay.”
That is to get people engaging in my videos, because I know if I can get people engaged, and I can get people commenting, guess what’s going to happen?
Facebook is going to say… “we’re going to push this out more since there is a lot of engagement going on.”
So with that, Facebook will push it out organically into the newsfeed of more people.
7. Start Engaging In The Comments
Once you are done with a Facebook live video, what you can do is go back and start engaging in all of the comments that people have posted on that particular video.
The key here is don’t do it all at once. Space it out, because the more you can space it out, the longer that your video is going to be showing up in people’s newsfeed.
So a lot of the times when I go live after, I go back in and start replying on people’s comments.
I won’t reply to all of them; I will reply to a few in little batches and then maybe the next day, I go back in and do it some more.
Now, do you want more replay viewers?
Understand that most of your views are going to be replay viewers.
So this is just a bonus tip:
You need to get to the point, ask a question, get to the content right off the bat.
Because if you’re sitting here and you’re waiting before getting into the content, you’re going to lose a lot of people right off the bat. They’re not going to stick around.
8. Email Your List
Email your list. Let them know what time that you’re going live.
After you’re live is over, you can actually send them an email with a link to the replay of the video.
That’s going to increase their views and actually push that more.
9. Ask People To Like, Share It Out, Or Tag Peeps
So, one of the big mistakes that I see again people making and I made it too is to assume it.
So if you want to expand beyond your current connections, start asking for shares.
I tell people all the time, “Hey, share this out. Let me know if you do share. Drop it below. I want to give you a shout out.”
You can’t really sit here and complain that nobody is sharing your content or that nobody is engaging your stuff if you don’t ask. You’re never going to get what you don’t ask for. So start asking.
10. Stop Competing With Yourself
Less is more these days on Facebook and here’s what I mean by this.
So if I’ve got a video that’s doing really good as far as engagement, I’m not going to jack it up by putting up another post or doing another video right away.
Why?
Because I’d be cutting my own throat due to my own posts competing with each other.
Let that post do its thing; let it organically go out there and start working for you.
Because I see people who are going out there and they’re posting back to back to back.
“Put out good quality content that’s going to make people want to engage. It’s going to make people want to share it right away.”
Was this helpful? Is there anyone else you know that is struggling in this area and could use some pointers too, share this with them so they too can increase their sales. I promise, they’ll thank you for it.
