What Is Attraction Marketing & Why It’s Important

What is attraction marketing? First, let me talk about what it’s not. See, when I came into this industry I was not taught marketing at all. I was taught to go out there, throw out information about your company, and throw up pictures that has the company logo and everything else on it.

What I found was I was repelling a lot of people, and I really wasn’t attracting anybody. My business grew some, however…it was not dramatic growth by any means.

I want you to think about this… Think about the last time that you watched TV. What did you do during the commercials? Chances are, you get up, you check your phone, you go to the bathroom, you grab a drink, you grab a snack because people don’t like commercials. Here’s the only difference from what I have noticed from network marketers and people who are growing a business online, you hate everybody else’s commercial but your own.  Am I right?

What you have to understand is that nobody else wants to be pitched. Nobody else wants to be sold to. Why do you think DVR is so popular right now? People don’t want to see it. They don’t want to see ads and they don’t want to see commercials.

Attraction marketing is leading with value. It’s thinking about who your target market is and who are you trying to attract. Then, it’s you going out there and leading with value. It’s you solving the problems of those in your target market.

If you lead with value and you start putting up educational and informational posts, what happens is it’s going to begin attracting people who have an interest in what you’re talking about. Hence, attraction marketing, right?

Ray Higdon talks about most people in this industry, they don’t use attraction marketing, they use repellant marketing. I can say I used repellant marketing for a long time (about four years in fact). It does not work.

Attraction marketing is so important because if you want to stand out in the marketplace, you’re going to have to get creative in your marketing. You’re going to have to stop going out there and just being a pitch fest. Now obviously you might be able to gain a few sales. I gained a few sales even when I was pitchy, but I turned more people off than on.

In the long run, if you want to create any type of successful business, leading with value and becoming a problem solver is going to take you a lot farther than just putting up pitchy, spammy posts.

A bonus tip is to also leave out any reference to what network marketing company you’re with. Always remember that your business and brand is YOU!!  It’s not the mlm you’re with but you!  So by not mentioning your company name, you are creating curiosity and forcing those who are interested to reach out to you versus google where more than likely they’ll just find a negative review and you’ll never know.
