#1 Comparing yourself to others

It’s super easy to sit here and feel like you’re doing everything you know how to do but not getting anywhere, while others seem to create massive success easily.  Sound familiar??

The thing is, nothing positive comes from comparing yourself to anyone and all it really does is get you focused on the wrong thing.  You also have to realize that you don’t know the struggles of others or what they went through to get to where they are.  You don’t know how much effort or time they spent building their business on the backend.  You don’t know how many people they talked to, to get those signups.  How many “no’s” they got or people who ignored them so just stop it!

In the video, I share with you (about minute 3.30) a story of a woman I mentored who compared herself to her sponsor (wait until you hear this).

The point is, your time is better spent taking action instead of wasting it wishing you had someone else’s success.  Go out and create your success story!

#2 Being someone who requires the acceptance and approval of others (around minute 7 above)

This is a BIG one!!!  You do not need the acceptance and approval of anyone to create massive success.  However, I will say if you’re someone who requires it, you probably won’t get that far.

I went to college for EIGHT years and have more than one degree so you can imagine how many people have said I was crazy for being an entrepreneur.  Well, honestly, I think they’re crazy for not having a backup plan. haha.

There will always be people who think you should be doing something other than what you’re doing.  There will always be people who disagree with what you’re doing but you can’t let them get to you!  You must get this out of your head if you want to go any distance in your business.

#3 Surrounding yourself with the wrong people (around minute 10.20)

They say you’re the average of the five people you hang around the most and I wholeheartedly agree.  If you surround yourself with negative people who are critical and skeptical, you’ll become the same.  Maybe you’ll “try” out your new business and when you haven’t pulled in thousands after two months, you’ll start believing what those negative people had to say about you joining.

I cannot stress enough to get around people who are going to inspire you to think bigger, dream bigger, and become more!  Get around people who get it!  Get around people who have what you want.  Get around people who are positive and watch what happens!!

    1. That can be a tough one but also understand that you don’t need anyone’s approval or acceptance to succeed. I would also bet that if he’s negative about your business, they might die down a little when you start creating some success. Keep your head up and keep going!

  1. Great post Sherri!

All 3 of these are HUGE killers….

Comparaitis used to be a biggie for me….but when I learned to celebrate the success of others and appreciate the work it took to get them there, I began to feel better and experience more success

    1. I think a lot of us compare ourselves to others at some point. We just have to learn to focus on ourselves and who we can serve. Thanks Dr. Lisa!
