How To Easily Create Your Own Images

Have you been curious as to how people create their own images you see on social media?  I felt the same way and thought that it must be super complicated.  Well, to be honest, it’s actually quite the opposite.  

I was watching a training video a couple of months ago and it was all about how to easily create your own images using a website call Canva, which I demonstrate in the video below.

Images can play a huge role in the amount of views and engagement you receive.  Statistics show that 65% of the population are visual learners (I’m definitely one myself).  

Check out this infographic below (I got it from Forbes.com) so you can see the power of using images in your marketing strategies.  One prime example is the fact that articles with images receive 94% more total views that articles without.  Interesting stuff, huh?  

 

Now, Canva is a free service that allows you to create all types of images, from blog titles, Facebook cover photos, infographics, etc.  I will also note there are a few phone apps that I use from time to time which are not mentioned in the video.  

VSCO is an app (on my phone) that I use to edit lighting.  So if I’ve taken a picture from my phone and I want to brighten it up or change the colors, I’ll use this app to do it.  You can edit the exposure, contrast, saturation, tint, temperature, skin tone, etc.

Afterlight is the other main editing app I use on my phone.  I use this one to add a white border around a picture or crop it to an exact size. Really the only time I even use this app is before uploading a picture to Instagram as I like all of my pictures to look uniform (again, better for us visual folks).  

However, for creating any image when it comes to my blog and most of my social media including Facebook Marketing, I now use Canva.  Watch the video below for a demonstration!
